Logan Couture sucker punched for talking politics in Toronto

I have so many questions for Logan Couture. First, why are you out and about talking to strangers during a pandemic? Second, if you’re going to be out talking to random people why are you talking American politics? You’re Canadian dude, talk about hockey, or Tim Hortons or something. I get the Sharks were a trash team this year and couldn’t even sniff a 24 team playoffs but don’t you have better things to do than walk around Toronto talking to strangers about politics. I guess the big question is just WHY?

It really doesn’t matter that Logan Couture was out during a pandemic talking politics on the streets with strangers, it’s no reason to sucker punch someone. People need to calm the fuck down for half a second and realize that not everyone holds the same exact opinion as you. Just because someone disagrees with you about politics, or sports, or anything, doesn’t mean you can sucker punch someone. If you disagree with someone and you get so engulfed in rage that your first instinct is to sucker punch them, than you’re crazy. Whether or not you agree or disagree with him you should be able to have enough empathy and compassion to understand Couture doesn’t deserve to get sucker punched in the face.

Couture seems like a pretty good guy, never met him, but he’s been a hard working guy for his entire career in San Jose. He’s got to be popular in the locker room as he’s been the Sharks captain for multiple years. Sure he’s a multimillionaire from sports, but he’s worked his ass off to have that success. Shit you could say that’s the most Canadian Dream of all time. Work your ass off to make bank from hockey. It’s the American equivalent to making millions from baseball or football, or you know hockey. The U.S. has good hockey players too.

Just because he’s a millionaire doesn’t mean he deserves people lining up asking him if he’s okay for being sucker punched. He deserves that because he’s a human being like the rest of us. We have all grown up differently, with different knowledge and information that has for sure shaped how we view the world, Logan Couture is no different. Just because someone has grown up differently, has different knowledge than you, or god forbid a different opinion, doesn’t mean they are bad people. The world is far more complex than that. People aren’t all good or all bad. It’s wild that people will watch movies and TV shows where the bad guy makes some really valid points that you can kind of agree with, or the good guy does something that your typical good guy wouldn’t do and they completely understand, but the second it happens in real life people go crazy.

Hell Batman beats the shit out of people with mental problems and he’s one of the best selling super heroes of all time. People understand that he’s the hero even though he’s done a couple of bad things. There was entire subplot to Harry Potter laying out all of Dumbledores flaws to prove he wasn’t this perfect good guy, he was the good guy who had made mistakes. What I’m trying to say is don’t be an asshole to people. I know, so much easier said than done. I’m trying all the time to be nicer to people, it’s not easy sometimes, but it is real easy to not sucker punch someone over a difference in opinion.
